Broadfront Services

Broadfront groups its services under three main headings. These encompass specific areas where complex projects have difficulty in ensuring delivery. Within these headings are a variety of targeted offerings which address targeted requirements and which together can help make the connections necessary for great results.

System Engineering We focus not only on delivering efficient and effective system engineering services, but also on ensuring that real value and benefits are gained from the effort. These services include:

  • helping you to create a strategy and plan for the system engineering of your project
  • advice on the best lifecycle model to pick
  • help with architectural frameworks including MoDAF implementation
  • help with requirements and requirements definition for optimal benefits
  • help with solution defintion and the creation of modular, service orientated solutions
  • advice and support in the implementation process
  • support with technology insertion and obsolescence planning

Our aim is not to create a paperwork knightmare, but to implement solutions that give real tangible value and deliver benefit led engineering efforts.

Knowledge Sustainment A key issue often overlooked in the planning and implementation of large, long duration projects is that of maintaining the key knowledge base over time. All the documents, reports and databases in the world are useless unless you know what they mean and how they fit together. This tacit knowledge base also encompasses what is not documented - the shortcuts, the systems that can do more than described in the requirements, the way the ensemble works, rather than the individual pieces.

We provide tools, methodologies and services to identify the key individuals; to extract some of those rules of thumb in a way that can be readily absorbed by new staff; and to keep in contact with the project alumni over years so that they are still available to call on when difficult questions arise later in the project lifecycle.

System Engineering points to the importance of understanding and planning up front as a way to reduce costs later on in the project. Knowledge sustainment provides the tools to help stop you forgetting what you learnt.

Interconnections In pulling together adhoc grouping from across differing disciplines and organisations problems usually occur at the interconnections. Mismatches, lack of understanding, inflexible structures and poor communications hamper any chance of success the project has.

We can provide advice and support as to how these interfaces can be structured and improved to meet the day to day needs of those on the project, whilst still providing you with the management certainty and control you need. If you have a project where you recognise there is an issue, we can audit the connections in an existing project and show you where improvements can be made to smooth progress.

Where needed, we can facilitate meetings, workshops and other communication as an independent third party to help you get back on track.

Key to success, however, is in sitting down with you and understanding your concerns and ideas. Please contact us and let's talk.
